Everyone’s talking about the towering coasters and the adrenaline-pumping drops coming to Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe. Okay, so, what if your perfect vacation is more about taking it easy, catching some cool shows, and maybe just a sprinkle of that magical feeling, you know, without all the crazy fast rides? Fear not, fellow thrill-averse adventurers! Indeed, Epic Universe isn’t solely the domain of rollercoaster fanatics; rather, it’s a sprawling wonderland brimming with experiences meticulously designed to enchant and entertain everyone.
Rides are fun, but characters breath life into the space in such unique and interesting ways. Throughout Epic Universe there is a diverse roster of characters in each land. They fall into two different categories: meet & greet or roaming characters.
Meet & greet characters are ones with set spaces you can queue on line to have a more formal encounter with. Examples of these are The Bride & Creature in Dark Universe, Nintendo Characters in Super Nintendo World, and Toothless in Isle of Berk. A benefit of these is having a more structured encounter with a Universal photographer. A downside can be the line at some meet & greets can get well over a hour wait due to popularity!
Roaming characters do just that: roam freely in the lands. With the exception of Super Nintendo World, each land has a variety of roaming characters that are an absolute joy to encounter. Ygor and the Invisible Man (Dr. Griffin) keep Dark Universe alive with their wit and humor. Don’t miss out on the Viking twins, Ruffnut and Tuffnut, wandering the Isle of Berk giving out some terrible advice on fire prevention.
With so many different characters to meet, you’ll easily fill your Epic Universe day with memories and some epic stories to share.
Did you know there are over 25 places in Epic Universe that you can get food & drink at? That’s a LOT of options to choose from!
For guests 21+, there are different specialty alcoholic drinks (beers & mixed drinks) in most of the lands. For those who don’t drink, don’t worry! There are tons of unique mocktails you can try throughout Epic. If you get the refillable Freestyle cup, check the soda machines in each land for a uniquely blended option!
When it comes to food, there is something for everyone. You can snack your way around the universe or enjoy a nice sit down meal. It’s easy to fill your day (and stomach!) eating around Epic Universe.
Not riding doesn’t mean you can’t experience some amazing things at Epic Universe.
Two world-class theater shows are not to be missed and will have you smiling all day. The Untrainable Dragon in the Isle of Berk is just pure joy and will have you smiling. After seeing Le Cirque Arcanus in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, you will leave with your jaw on the floor.
In Super Nintendo World, the interactive elements are a class of entertainment of their own. For an additional cost, you can get a Power-Up Band. Once linked to your account, you can start earning ‘coins’ for your team while interacting with props in the land.
Coin blocks, touch points, and mini games can put in you in the game with some competitive elements. If you collect three out of the five golden keys, you can tap into the ‘final boss mini game’.
Epic Universe isn’t just for thrill-seekers. It’s a huge wonderland. It offers many experiences. These experiences are designed to enchant and entertain everyone.
