Located in Universal Orlando’s CityWalk is a quirky shop that is as delicious as it is eye catching: Voodoo Doughnuts
Originally hailing from Oregon, the Universal CityWalk location opened in 2018 to rave reviews. Forget plain glazed and chocolate frosted – Voodoo Doughnuts is a world of over-the-top creations that are as visually stunning as they are tasty.
From the moment you step inside, you’re transported to another dimension. The shop itself is a sensory overload, with vibrant colors, quirky decorations, and an air of playful rebellion. The menu is a masterpiece of culinary creativity, featuring donuts with names like “Eight Mile” and “The Voodoo Doll”.
While visually appealing, the million dollar question is: are they any good?
Short answer: yes, if you are a doughnut person.
There are standard favorites that appeal to everyone, but the more unique ones are what make this a must stop. The Voodoo Doll (raised yeast doughnut filled with raspberry jelly topped with chocolate frosting and a pretzel stake) is a fun twist on the standard jelly filled & makes for a great photo.
Voodoo Doughnuts also usually does a variety of seasonal or special event specific treats. Often times these are some of their most unique flavors that tie into the season/special event.
If you’ve never tried Voodoo Doughnuts, it’s worth a stop when you are visiting Universal’s CityWalk. They are high quality, well made, and fairly well priced (starting at $2!). Plus, the offer mobile ordering so at peak times you can order as you head out of the parks to grab on your way to your hotel!
